Congo the Gorilla From now on both parts of the couple to not have to be at the meeting to get the gorilla. If one part goes and takes two other members from their chapter with them then they have a chance at the gorilla. It is hard with the times being the way they are for every one to get off and go after it . SO if one part of the couples show up then they are allowed to try and get the gorilla every thing else stays the same.
1. Any current Chapter Couple of the Year may participate in this program. 2. The District Couple of the Year will place Congo in play on February 16, 2009 at the Chapter U monthly meeting in Franklin, Ky. 3. A couple who gains possession of Cong may take him to any Chapter meeting, including their own, as long as it is within two weeks from the date that they gained possession. 4. A couple in possession of Congo cannot complete for successive possession unless no couple is present to compete, in which case the couple retains possession by default, and is credited with another possession. 5. If the couple in possession of Congo is unable to visit another chapter of make him available at their own meeting they should designate someone else from their chapter to make a chapter visit and make Congo available. 6. Congo will be available at any chapter gathering, (Example: Fun days,poker runs, and any other GWRRA events in KY.) You must sign in when visiting another chapter meeting so records may be maintained. 7. You may take Congo to any GWRRA event. Take pictures of him at the event and put them in the photo album that goes with him. Congo can only wear event pins for those events that he has actually attended. 8. When Congo attends a gathering , each visiting Chapter Couple of the Year will be entered in a drawing to see who gets custody of him, if more than one couple of the year is present. 9. When a Chapter Couple of the Year wins custody of Congo, they should know where they want to take him next. It needs to be announced at that time. 10. Each time a Chapter Couple of the Year wins custody of Congo, they should sign his journal and add any other information about what you did with him. 11. Whenever custody of Congo changes, the gaining couple must notify the District Couple of the Year Ralph and Sally Ulery rulery@vci.net and the GWRRAKY.COM web site. You must also let us know where you plan on making him available next. This will help us keep up with him and get it posted on the District GWRRAKY.COM web site12. At Bluegrass Blast we will enter each Chapter Couple that had custody of Congo into a basket and if that couple is present they will receive a prize. 12. each couple that goes after him gets a point along with who wins him every month gets two points.
